Our History

Our Story

Denver Addis Kidan Evangelical Church is an Ethiopian evangelical congregation of approximately 850 members in Aurora, Colorado, affiliated with the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA). For over a decade, we have been a spiritual home for the Ethiopian diaspora community and all who seek authentic, Bible-centered worship.

The name Addis Kidan — meaning "New Covenant" — reflects our deep commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and God's promise of redemption for all people. We hold fast to that covenant in everything we do: our worship, our community, our outreach, and our service.

Doctrine

We Believe

Our faith is grounded in the eternal truths of Holy Scripture.

We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God and our ultimate and final authority for faith and practice.

We believe in one God, revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God, our perfect heavenly Father, loves and cares for all.

We believe God created all humans in His image and that sin has brought separation between God and humans.

We believe that Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became human and sacrificially died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sin.

We believe that the Holy Spirit was sent by God to live in and transform the lives of believers into the likeness of Christ.

We believe the only way to salvation is through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, trusting in Him as Lord and Savior. Through faith we become children of God.

We believe that the Church, Christ's radiant bride, is a spiritual body made up of all believers, each of whom is a vital part of God's plan.
