Privacy Policy

Effective October 1, 2026

Addis Kidan Evangelical Church, also known as Denver Addis Kidan Evangelical Church (“the church,” “we,” “us”) is a non-profit church at 2220 S Chambers Rd, Aurora, CO 80014. This policy explains what personal information we collect through our text-message (SMS) program and our text-updates sign-up form, and how we use and protect it. It applies to information collected through those two channels.

Information we collect

• Your mobile phone number and, if you give it, your name.
• Your consent record: when and how you agreed to receive texts (for example, the sign-up form on our website, a paper sign-up card, or texting us), and whether you later opted out.
• Messages you send to our text line, and the messages we send you, with delivery status.

How we use it

• To send you church announcements, service and event updates, reminders, and weather or schedule changes, only if you have opted in.
• To reply to questions you text us, and to pass your message to church staff so a person can respond.
• To keep a record of your consent and to honor your opt-out requests.
• To keep the service secure and to meet legal and carrier requirements.

No sharing for marketing

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. We do not sell, rent, or trade your phone number or any information about you.

Service providers

We use trusted providers only to operate the program on our behalf: our messaging provider (SignalWire, which delivers text messages through mobile carriers) and cloud hosting and database providers that store the information described above. They may use your information only to provide those services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Opting out and your choices

Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving messages. You will get one confirmation and nothing more. Reply HELP for help. You can also contact us at the details below to see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you; we will honor deletion requests, except that we will keep your phone number on a do-not-text list so that your opt-out is respected.

Security and retention

We limit access to this information to church staff and volunteers who need it and to the providers above, and we store it with access controls and encryption in transit. We keep your information while you are subscribed and as long as needed afterward to honor your opt-out and meet legal obligations.

Children

Our text program is intended for adults and for parents or guardians. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we will remove the information.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will post the new version on this page and update the date above.
